The RIFF Dissemination Service takes data from the institutional repository, translates it through the Manakin software framework, and renders it into a number of different digital formats according to the predefined logical structures and user interface designs that are specified as part of the RIFF workflow components.

The Dissemination Service takes into account the following design constraints:

  • deployable as part of the DSpace and Fez+Fedora installations;
  • extensible DIP-to-Presentation libraries (XSLT->XHTML+CSS/PDF etc.)
  • packaged and documented suitable for release in the public domain
  • deployable within the proposed National federated AAA service (e.g. Shibboleth)
